Sergeant Brad "Iceman" Colbert is the Team Leader of Team 1 of the 2nd Platoon of the First Recon Battalion Marines :D Played by the amazing (and delicious♥) Alexander Skarsgård, Colbert is one of the most interesting characters in Generation Kill.
Colbert, nicknamed "Iceman", is a confident marine who is respected by his peers. Being level-headed and efficient, he works as a great leader. Brad cares a lot about his colleagues, taking blame for others and doing his best to get them equipment they need but don't have.
On Generation Kill, Colbert's personal history is not greatly explored. However, we do know that his long-term girlfriend left him for his best friend. Due to this unfortunate incident, Brad disapproves of marriage.
The Brad Colbert of Generation Kill is based on the real Brad Colbert, but of course, for adaptations, even ones like these which are supposed to be more realistic, certain parts may not be fact. How exact the HBO Colbert and the real one are- who knows? All I know is Colbert as Skarsgård was directed to portray is a witty, admirable character :)
