Dumbledore's Farewell is the 26th track on the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince soundtrack. It's a devastatingly beautiful song highlighted by a haunting choir and filled with melancholy strings. It plays when Dumbledore meets his demise and the occupants of Hogwarts raise their wands in tribute. Part of the song also appears in "Opening" (Track #1), playing when Harry Potter was being bombarded with the paparazzi. While watching the movie, both times I was on the verge of tears- especially when Dumbledore died. Having read the books already, I knew it would happen, but the way the scene was directed, the raising of the wands, and of course this amazing composition, re-created the scene in the perfect way.
